Mosaic = Jazz + Beatbox + a little Drum & Bass
If you appreciate innovative Jazz and the human beatbox, you gotta check these guys out.
I had the chance to catch them at the Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival this weekend here in Orlando. They combine a little scat and jazz acapella, over beatboxing…. and remix some classic tunes. I when I say remix, they get down funky, clean and even switch straight up to Drum & Bass lines while singing tracks like “It’s a Wonderful World.” Their D&B beatboxer was able to do a really unique, sick, bassline unlike anything I’ve heard before, even from someone like Killer Kella.
It was really cool to see the more “conservative” crowd enjoying the slick clash to truely timeless music, with truely progressive techniques.
And the name of their website does them well, since they’re pretty clean cut:
